The village of Assonora is situated in the region of Bardez Taluka in the northern part of the district of Goa. The small village is located at a distance of 15 km from the town of Mapusa and is covered with dense forest cover. The village is popular for its massive iron ore dumps and mining belts, where several numbers of workers are employed on a regular basis.
