Dharampur
Dharampur is a city located on the banks of River Swargavahini and is surrounded by the Western Ghats. The entrance of the city has a European style Rajya Rohan Gate along with Greek style statues in Dharampur. The city was founded in 1764 by King Dharma Dev, who was the ruler of the erstwhile princely state of Dharampur. During the 18th century, several public buildings, temples, stepwells and a Raj Mahal were constructed here. The construction of the jail, hospitals and Anglo Vernacular School took place during the late 19th century. King Mohan Dev, a descendant of King Dharmadev, built the Pramod Bhavan, State Guest House, Mohan Vilas Palace and many temples in the city. The major attractions in the region are the Lady Wilson Museum, Radha Krishna temple, Wilson hill and the Japanese Garden.
