Palampur

Palampur, the wonderful hill station is situated in Kangra Valley in an Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the tea capital of northwest India. Palampur is surrounded by pine forests and flanked by the Dhauladhar ranges.
Bulk Tea production, nightlife of forest resort and good quality of Apple production attracts a large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year. There are numerous streams flowing from the mountains to the plains from Palampur. The combination of greenery and water gives Palampur a distinctive look. Being a famous hill station it was once a part of the Jalandhar kingdom. The town became famous when Dr. Jameson, Superintendent of Botanical Gardens, introduced the tea bus from Almora in 1849.
