Mallikarjuna Temple Travel Map

Mallikarjuna temple is at the centre of the Kasargod town and is famous for a festival and musical theatre, Yakshagana. It is believed to be one of the oldest temples of Kasargod and the main deity Lord Shiva is worshipped as Mallikarjuna. According to mythology, Arjuna decorated the statue of Lord Shiva of this temple. The temple festival is held every year in the month of March or April. During the five day long festival, many cultural programmes are organised in the temple courtyard. On the last day of the festival, Yakshagana is performed, which is the main highlight of the festival. At the time of the festival, Payasam is offered to all the visitors.
