Manissery Travel Map

Manissery, located in the Palakkad District of Kerala, lies around 12 km away from the destination on the western side of Ottapalam. This town has an ancient mansion known as the Varikkasseri Mana. This mansion is a famous site where many Malayalam movies have been shot. The mansion is inspired by the Nalukettu architecture, the traditional architecture style of Kerala. Varikkasseri Ravi Namboodiripad, the paternal granduncle of the current head Krishnan Namboodiripad, constructed this mansion. It is recorded that the mansion originally belonged to a Kerala Brahmin. This mansion is usually rented to film directors and producers for shootings. One Nalukettu, two Pathayappuras, Oottupura and a large pond named Kulappura are the main attractions of this mansion.
