The temple is situated near the Guruvayurappam Temple. The temple is considered an integral part of the Guruvayur pilgrim tour. The temple enshrines the idol of Lord Shiva. Besides, the temple also houses smaller shrines of Ayyappa, Vishnu, Subramanyam and Ganapathy. It is also believed that Goddess Parvathy is present inside the sanctorum. Mural paintings with the images of Mohini adorn the walls of the temple.
