Ganapathiyar Kovil

Ganapathiyar Kovil is a 900 year old structure, which was constructed by the Chetti community of Tamil Nadu. Currently in ruins, the granite pillars of the structure have carvings and inscriptions in Tamil language. The inscriptions represent the story of the Pattunool Shetties community. The community still exists in the region and is known for Kanjirapally Katcha, meaning weaving on textiles.
