Elephant Training Centre

The Elephant Training Centre at Konni is around 11 km away from Pathanamthitta. The centre has numerous wood cages that have been built for keeping elephants. These cages, also known as Aanakoodu' in the local language, are strong enough to keep around 3 to 4 elephants at a time. Baby elephants that are separated from the herd or trapped in the forest are also brought to the training centre where they are tamed and trained.
