Ernakulam Junction (130 km) is major junction from where you can get trains for major cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mangalore, and Mumbai.
Kerala State Transport Corporation operates bus services to Munnar from major cities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Other than government transportation, a number of private bus operators also runs buses on the same route. There are a number of luxury and Volvo buses between cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Mysore to Munnar. Driving to Munnar by own car can be adventurous. Roads connecting Munnar to rest of the state are well-developed with beautiful scenery, making it a pleasant road trip especially during monsoon season.
