Wayanad

Wayanad wildlife sanctuary situated in Wayanad district in an Indian state of Kerala, also the most visiting place of South India. It was established in 1973 and today it is spread in around 244.44 sq. km. It share border with the neighbouring states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and is the southern most tip of the Deccan Plateau. The culture of Wayanad is mainly tribal oriented. This district is one of the biggest foreign exchange earners of the State with its production of cash crops like pepper, cardamom, coffee, tea, spices and more. It is basically known for its cool highland climate, misty peaks and its virgin forests. It is usually called the spice garden of the south, the land of paddy fields. How to reach Wayanad
By Air

The Karipur international airport at Kozhikode is the airport situated in the nearby area of Wayanad. It is located at a distance of 100 km from the city. The airport has access to many international and domestic flights. Tourists from Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai along with Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi can reach Wayanad easily.

By Train

The Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Wayanad. It is situated at a distance of 110 km from the city. There is frequent connectivity of train services to Kochi, Trivandrum, Bangalore, and Chennai. The railway station has access to trains connecting the city with other major cities of the country.

By Road

Wayanad has a good network of KSRTC buses to the nearby cities. There are buses running between Wayanad and Bangalore (6 Hr), Trivandrum (2 Hr), Mangalore (6 Hr) and Kochi (8 Hr).
