The holy place of Dehu is famous as it is the birthplace of Sant Tukaram, who lived in Dehu and taught about the Lord Vitthal. Since the 17th century, the Sant-poet was well known for his preaching and had many followers which include the other famous Sant like Sant Dhyaneswar.The place of Dehu is located at a distance of 31 kms from Alandi along the River Indrayani. During the month of asadh, the Palakhi festival is held in a large scale, since 17th century.
