Kallola Tirth

Kallola Tirth is a huge water tank, located in the Prakara Temple of the Tuljabhavani Temple. This tank is about 40 ft by 20 ft in dimension and is walled on all the sides. As per legends, the water of sacred rivers like Ganga, flowing from mountain ranges like the Himalayas, merged into the tank, after getting an invite from Bramha. While merging in the tirth, the water made a great noise or 'kolahal', owing to which, it earned the name Kallola Tirth.
