Vajreshwari Temple

Vajreshwari Temple, the oldest temple of this region, is dedicated to Goddess Vajreshwari. Goddess Vajreshwari is also known as Goddess Parvati. The Shree Vajreshwari Yogini Devi Mandir is about 76 km away from Mumbai and lies on the banks of Tansa river. Next to the temple, is the post office of the town.The Navratri festival is celebrated at this temple, in the Hindu month of Chaitra (March), during which, a grand fair is organised in honour of the Goddess Vajreshwari. Other important festivals celebrated at this temple are Deepavali, Holi, Datta Jayanti, Kojagiri Poornima and Hanuman Jayanti. The month of Shravan, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is also celebrated in a grand style here.
