Tuljabhavani Mandir is considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India. This temple was built during the 12th century A.D. and is dedicated to Goddess Tulja Bhavani. The idol kept inside this temple, is about 1 m in height and is carved out of granite.Different kinds of weapons are held in the eight hands of the idol. Out of the eight hands, one of them is holding the head of a demon named Mahishasura. It is popularly believed that Goddess Tulja Bhavani was born to kill Mahishasura.
