Arbuda Devi Temple

Mount Abu has the series of Hindu temples including the Adhar Devi Temple also known as Arbuda Devi Temple. Arbuda Devi Temple is the most famous temple in the Mount Abu. It is located 3 km away from the Mount Abu. To reach Adhar Devi Temple traveler has to climb up 365 stairs. The temple is carved into the mountain. The temple itself is situated inside a rocky cleave and is reached by crawling only through a small opening into the cave. The Adhar Devi Temple is dedicated to the Goddess Durga. Legend says that it has "Adhar" of the Mataji (Goddess deity) fell here. It was believed that the image of the goddess found there hanging in mid-air, so it got its nameAdharDevi. The temple has many many beautiful idols. It is surrounded with many picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and forests. To climb up to the Adhar Devi temple can be a tough one so it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
