Jhansi Museum

Situated in the Jhansi Fort, the Jhansi Museum is a prominent attraction. The museum displays the rich history of the city as well as the entire region of Bundelkhand.The museum's collection speaks of the times and lives of the Chandela rulers. It houses some of the dresses, weapons, photographs and statues of the Chandela Dynasty. Besides, there is a picture gallery also that showcases the times of the Gupta Kings only. Also showcased are bronze statues, terracotta structures, paintings, manuscripts and coins.A separate gallery dedicated to weapons also displays a good collection of arsenals and weaponry of the British rulers, Chandelas and Bundelas. The museum also has a collection of weapons used by the Rani of Jhansi during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.
