Suraj Kund was constructed by a businessman, Lawar Jahawar Lal, in 1714. Initially, the pond was filled with the water of Abu Nala and later, it was filled with the water of Ganga Canal. Suraj Kund is surrounded by many ancient temples, including the famous Baba Manohar Nath Temple built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
