It is the most important Char Dham among all the four sites of India's Char Dham pilgrimage. It is also known as the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage site. The popular belief of Badarinath is that the it is the domain of Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu managed to unseat Shiva from here to Kedarnath. Due to heavy snowfall, Badrinath opens for six months every year between the end of April and November. It offers the awesome beauty of the snow clad mountain peaks and the surging landscapes of the Garhwal region.
