Bright End Corner
Bright End Corner, situated 2 km away from Almora is a vantage point offering best views of the sunrise and sunset over the snow clad peaks. It is situated at the end of Almora ridge, and offers a panoramic view of the magnificent Himalayas as well. Named after Mr. Brighton, the Bright End Corner marks the beginning of the Mall Road in Almora.At the Bright End Corner is a centre for meditation, known as Shri Ramakrishna Kutir Ashram. Tourists from across the world travel to this place during April to June and September to November seeking aid in meditation. This place in Almora is where tourists can feel the presence of silence that identifies with the feeling of being in the womb.Near the sunset point is a Vivekananda Library that contains many books on literature. At a small distance from the library, a Vivekananda Memorial has been constructed in dedication to Swami Vivekananda, who had stopped here for a while on his journey to the Himalayas. A circuit house can be spotted on the way back, where travellers can rest.
