Badrinath

This pilgrimage site is sandwiched between two mountains Nar and Narayan in  Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is the most important Char Dham among all the four sites of India's Char Dham pilgrimage. It is also known as the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage site. The popular belief of Badarinath is that the it is the domain of Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu managed to unseat Shiva from here to Kedarnath. Due to heavy snowfall, Badrinath opens for six months every year between the end of April and November.It offers the awesome beauty of the snow clad mountain peaks and the surging landscapes of the Garhwal region.

By Air

The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, a domestic Airport. It is about 311 km to reach Badrinath. The Airport serves throughout India. You can opt to hire a taxi outside from the Airport or you can get state/private bus service to reach Badrinath.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Haridwar to reach Badrinath. It is about 318km distance from railway station.

By Road
