Pauri Garhwal
Pauri Garhwal has a diverse landscape that stretches from the Tarai foothills of Kotdwar to the Doodhatoli meadows, up to a height of 3000 m. This entire area remains hidden under the snow during the winters.The Pauri Garhwal district is encircled on three sides with the districts of Almora, Haridwar, Nainital, Dehradun, Chamoli, Tehri Garhwal and Rudraprayag and on the south it touches the UP's Bijnor District. The major part of Pauri Garhwal is under the Himalayan region in the north and some parts of it under the plains of the Ganges. Pauri Garhwal is located at an altitude of 1814 m, beyond sea level on the northern side of the Kandoliya Hills with its headquarter of the district and the Garhwal Division located in the city of Pauri. It provides a view of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan ranges.The peaks that can be seen from Pauri Garhwal are Swarga – Rohini, Thalaiya- Sagar, Bandar Poonch, Kharcha Kund, Jogin Group, Satopanth, Jonli, Kedarnath, Neelkanth, Gangotri Group, Sumeru, Nanda devi, Chaukamba, Ghoriparvat, Trisul and Hathi Parvat.
