Kausani

An adventure destination, Kausani also known as 'Switzerland of India' is located in Bageshwar district in an Indian state of Uttarakhand. Kausani is an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Himalayas and offers views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nandakot, Panchchuli peaks and Chaukhamba. It is popular for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of the Himalayas. Mahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscapes. Kausani is surrounded by the rivers Kosi and Gomti, this hamlet sits atop the Pingnath Peak. The famous tourist visiting places around Kausani are the Temple town of Bageshwar located at the confluence of the river Sarayu and Gomti, the Gandhi Ashram and the Rudradhari falls and caves.
