Church of the Holy Spirit is located in the Old Market Square of the commercial town at Margao. The church was originally built in 1564 by the Jesuit missionaries. In 1571, this church was destroyed by Muslim soldiers. It was finally rebuilt in 1645 and consecrated in 1675. This church has been constructed in Indian Baroque architectural style, with outer white facade. The central dome of the church has towers on either side. Interiors of the church are decorated with pipe organ, crystals and stucco. The cross inside the church belongs to the late 17th century. The altars inside the church are dedicated to Immaculate Conception of Mary, St. Peter and St. Michael. Every year on 10th of June, feast day celebrated in the church.
