Lighthouse Beach
Lighthouse Beach, a long stretch of sand, is located along the Malabar Coast. Out of the three beaches of Kovalam, this beach is the largest. At the southern end of this beach, stands a 30 metre high lighthouse. This beach is named after this lighthouse, which is probably the prime attraction of this beach. The lighthouse has an observation platform, which can be reached by climbing 142 steps. Tourists can get a view of Beemapalli Mosque in one direction and Poovar on the other. Water sports like swimming, parasailing and surfing can be enjoyed at this beach.
