Mangladevi Temple

Located on top of a wooden hill is the Mangla Devi Temple, which is about 15 km from the region of Thekkady. This temple is popular among the locals and travellers for its ancient Pandian type architecture. The location of this temple is unique, is located at an altitude of 1337 m on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu boundary. This temple is one of the oldest temples of the region as it is said to be 2000 years old dedicated to Kannagi or Mangladevi. Prayers in this temple are conducted only once in a year on a full moon day in between the month of April and May.
