Chembra Peak

Chembra Peak is one of the tallest mountain peaks in the district of Wayanad, which is 2,100 metres above the main sea level. Trekking and mountain climbing are popular activities here. Temporary camps have been set up on the top of this peak for providing accommodation to mountain climbers. This peak lies 14 km west of Kalpetta town and is also located close to Meppadi town. The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) offers sleeping bags, canvas, log huts, guides and trekking equipment. From the top of the peak, trekkers can see the entire Wayanad District. Prior permission is required from the Forest Range Officer at Meppadi for trekking at Chembra Peak.
