Ajinkyatara Fort

Ajinkyatara Fort is one of the major tourist destinations located in the heart of Satara City of Maharashtra. Situated atop Ajinkyatara Mountain, at an altitude of 1006 m above sea level, Ajinkyatara Fort offers a panoramic view of Satara City.Ajinkyatara Fort, built by Raja Bhoj of the Shilhar Dynasty, is surrounded by thick walls which are 4 m high. The fort is also referred to as the 'Fort of the Sapta-Rishi' and can be observed from the hill of Yawateshwar, which is 5 km away from Satara City. The fort premises include shrines to Devi Mangalai, Lord Shankar and Lord Hanuman, which attract many pilgrims during auspicious days.
