Sangam

Triveni Sangam, located at a distance of 7 km from the Civil Lines is one of the most famous tourist attractions of the city. It is the confluence of the three rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. It is also believed to be the same spot where the drops of holy nectar fell.It is the holiest point in Allahabad and a dip in the Triveni is believed to free one, of all sins. Tourists visiting Sangam can hire boats to take a dip into this holy water. Boats are available at the ghat immediately to the east of the fort. This Sangam is extremely crowded during the Kumbha and Ardh Kumbha Melas.Boats are available at INR30.05 per visitor. The official prices of the boat ranges from INR99.58 to INR119.77. However at peak season prices rises to INR 249.41.
