Karauli
Medieval Karauli, founded in 14th century, and ruled by kings who claimed descent from Lord Krishna, was never a glorious empire. But it was famous for its red sandstone and protected by ravines. Today, its walled city, bastioned fort and the Bhadrawati River add up to a gem of a discovery.
